GOVERNMENT FUNDED PLACES
Bright Futures Nursery offer funded early education entitlements for eligible children, including the 30-hour entitlement for working families, the 15-hour entitlement for eligible two-year-olds receiving additional support, and the universal 15-hour entitlement for all three- and four-year-olds.
Please note for nursery education funded sessions are funded termly which is for 38 weeks of the year, not 52.
What Government Funding Does Not Cover:
Government funding does not include meals, food and drink, consumable items, additional childcare hours, or optional services. These may be charged for separately .
Consumables and Supplies:
Consumable items may include nappies, pull-ups, wipes, nappy cream, disposable items, sun cream, sun hats, tissues, toiletries, and the replenishment of first-aid supplies. These items support hygiene, health, and day-to-day nursery operations and are not included within government funding.
Activities and Enrichment:
Additional charges may apply for enrichment experiences such as gardening and outdoor learning resources, outings, visitors, specialist tuition (including music, sports, or language sessions), graduation events, and seasonal or festive celebrations.
Additional Childcare Services:
Charges may apply for childcare provided outside of a child’s funded entitlement, including additional hours, early drop-offs, and late collections.
All eligible children are entitled to receive their full funded early education hours regardless of whether optional services are taken up.
Due to health, safety, and practical considerations, it may not always be feasible for families to supply alternative shared or specialist resources. In such circumstances, access to certain optional enrichment activities may be limited; however, this will not affect a child’s access to funded hours or the core early education provision.
Transparency and Review:
Details of all charges are made available to parents in advance and are kept under regular review to ensure continued compliance with Department for Education and London Borough of Havering funding requirements.
