My name is Doris, I am the manager for Vicarage Lane Bright Futures Club. I have been working with children for over 20years. At Vicarage Lane our aim is to give children freedom of choice and also to learn how to be sociable, The way we implement that is by letting the children all sit down together on a long line of tables and chairs to have their snacks, Then we arrange different activities inside and outside i.e Art, Puzzles, Cooking and Skipping which allows children to make their choices. At 5pm we get all the children in the hall for lots of fun interactive games i.e Dodge ball, Ladders and Mingle Mingle until their parents come to collect them and sometimes we allow them to choose all the games they want to play. By doing this, Quiet or shy children get to socialize without feeling left out and it also helps to break the barrier between the younger and older children, No one gets excluded. Because we are a multicultural club we celebrate events.
